HELP MAI-LYNN FIGHT CANCER

Mai-Lynn has been diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time. This time the cancer is in her ovaries. Her doctor told her that she has only 1 year to live.

A little about Mai-Lynn and her family:
-loving, single mother of 2 children: Drekwon (14 year old son) and Kitana (6 year old daughter)
-working in administration and inventory control at Atlas Tire

She has survived 2 bouts of cancer. Because her second bout was treated by naturopathy, Mai-Lynn has chosen to undergo naturopathic treatment again to fight ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, naturopathic treatment is not covered under any insurance plan and she has exhausted all her funds covering the treatment. In order for Mai-Lynn to continue her battle against cancer, a donation campaign has been established by her very close friends. Please donate to Mai-Lynn's cause via the following:

Mai-Lynn’s Story

Mai-Lynn is a hardworking employee at Atlas Tires and a single mother of two children, Dre & Kitanna. Mai-Lynn is a loving mother and a supportive friend to many.

Iin 2006, she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and had 70% of her stomach removed. Mai-Lynn underwent extensive chemotherapy and radiation treatment. As we all know, cancer is a fierce disease and it recurred in June of 2009. Mai-Lynn was advised that she would have to cut out the rest of her stomach to cure her of her second bout of stomach cancer. After deciding to go the natural route, she successfully found relief through naturopathic medicine.

Unfortunately, the cancer has come back with a vengeance, spreading to her ovaries. She also has a Lymphoid in her uterus the size of a grapefruit. Specialists have given her the option of undergoing a hysterectomy to make her time with us a bit more comfortable.Princess Margret has turned her away as further treatment cannot be performed. Doctors at her last examination informed Mai-Lynn that she has less than a year to live, and she is now 7 months in.

If that wasn’t bad enough, she has no one to leave her children with (son Dre, aged 14 and daughter Kitanna, aged 6). Mai-Lynn has no form of support from her immediate family and only has her friends. Her children will most likely be split up after she is gone. She has thought long and hard about her two choices, chemotherapy and alternative medicine, and she decided that the best option for quality of life would be alternative medicine because of her personal experience with chemotherapy. She had opted out of the conventional chemotherapy treatments because the doctors say that it will not eliminate the cancer since this is her third bout with the disease. It may shrink the cancer, but it will only buy her a few months. She is aware of the devastating affects of chemotherapy from undergoing treatments back in 2006, when she became bedridden and was unable to care for her children. Because of this, she has decided to continue alternative medicine in the hope that she will live out the rest of her life capable of caring for her children, as a family.

Cancer may have affected your life at some point whether it may be now or in the past, someone as close as a family member or someone you know, so we are sure you can understand the pain and suffering that this family is undergoing at this present time.

We implore that you find it in your hearts to give to this cause and spread the word. We are asking for items that can be used as gifts to raffle to raise funds, as well as for financial donations that will be used to provide Mai-Lynn with the necessary treatments she needs to give her and her children quality of life during the time she has left. We are not asking for a miracle but we are asking for support.

On behalf of Mai-Lynn, her children, and her close friends, we thank you for your support and love. It is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
