Head Instructor: Kin Sze

Sifu Kin Sze is the chief instructor at Bamboo Kung Fu School, a leading martial arts school located in downtown Toronto, Scarborough and Markham. With a martial arts career spanning close to three decades, Kin once reigned as one of Canada’s leading Sanshou and traditional forms competitors, receiving a number of awards at national and international competitions, such as the Canadian National Sanshou (Chinese Kickboxing) Team Selection and the 2004 First World Traditional Wushu Festival in Zhengzhou, China.

Kin Sze is dedicated to promoting the traditional Choi Lee Fut style he learned while under the tutelage of the illustrious Grandmaster Paul Chan (1932-2012). He later went on to further pursue his knowledge in Buk Sing Choy Li Fut with a Buk Sing CLF kung fu master, Sifu Michael Chan. Without corrupting the essence of time-honoured traditions, his certification as a Poliquin International Level 1 Strength Conditioning Specialist allows him to combine a superior power/strength building segment that compliments a solid foundation of pure Choi Lee Fut. He also holds coaching certifications in Sanda / Sanshou, issued from the governing body in Beijing, China.

Kin Sze is also a 10-year veteran personal trainer with First Aid and CPR certification. He is a practicing bone-setter in Toronto and he's also currently pursuing a Registered Massage Therapy RMT registration.


Kung Fu Instructor - Drew Eastmond

Kung Fu Instructor, Drew Eastmond

Drew teaches the pre-Foundation kung fu classes at Bamboo Kung Fu, downtown location. With martial arts experiences spanning a little less than 10 years, Drew comes to us with more than 5 and half years of Thai kickboxing (Muay Thai) experience. With his full time career as a website designer, Drew is always keen on learning more and improves his martial arts knowledge. He is currently a senior member at Bamboo Kung Fu training under Sifu Kin Sze.

He appreciates the importance of being physically active and doing so by learning martial arts that he truly enjoys learning and sharing it with others. From a young age, Drew has been living a physically active lifestyle. He has been an a track and field athlete in school, rock-climbing, soccer, volleyball, snowboarding, weight lifting, Spartan Race.

His believes in coaching / guiding all his students including new students to perform good technique to leverage their techniques to for great effect and minimize injuries.

Certified Kung Fu Instructor - Genevieve Heineman

Genevieve Heineman is a certified instructor and licensed Essentrics instructor with Bamboo Kung Fu and has been studying Choy Li Fut Kung Fu with Sifu Kin Sze for the past two years. Prior to that, she was a professional dancer with a background in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. She also studied Wu Mei Kung Fu in New York city for a number of years which was the predecessor to Wing Chun, the style that Bruce Lee made famous. This led to her interest in Buddhism and she later took her Bodhisattva vows with Fo Guan Shan (彿光山) temple in California.

It is her own personal experience that practicing Kung Fu has made her healthier, stronger, and more self confident. Genevieve is passionate in helping people to better themselves through martial arts and fitness training. She is particularly concerned with empowering women, transgender and non-binary people to feel safe and secure within their own bodies and to protect themselves as they navigate through their daily lives.

Genevieve is currently the instructor of the Essentrics™ programs and Women, Transgender, Non-Binary kung fu class at Bamboo Kung Fu downtown location.
